If you want to take your musical improv experience to the next level, i.e. for performance, then this is the workshop for you. Learning skills and techniques needed to perform improvised musical shows, the objective of this workshop is ideally to establish a group of improvisers who would become part of a new Dogface troupe that would meet regularly to rehearse and perform (although participation on this workshop doesn't demand that).

What can I expect?

  • A more focused study of musical narrative
  • Learning techniques/skills for performance as a group
  • Increased knowledge of singing styles and genres
  • Ideas and knowledge for progression for the troupe
  • Fun!

Who is this workshop suitable for?

  • Adults age 18+ (over 16s welcome with a letter from parent/guardian)
  • People who have taken the Introduction to Musical Improv workshop
  • People with previous experience of musical theatre/improv
  • People who want to become members of a dedicated Dogface troupe for improvised musical shows

Improv is a load of fun, and anyone can do it! Great for building confidence, wellbeing and for being an outlet for play + creativity. We create safe and supportive enviroments in our classes, and they're run by experienced improv coaches.

We are delighted to offer all our courses in partnership with the wonderful Slow Theatre Company

What is Improv?

Improv is a form of performance - often comedic, but also dramatic, where everything is made up on the spot. There are no scripts, just collaboration techniques and tools that allow us to build worlds from nothing at all. People often know improv from the TV show "Whose line is anyway?" - but this is just the tip of the iceberg! The possibilties are endless and anyone can do it.
